Gelukszoekers
Everyone is always on the move, both literally and figuratively, and everyone hopes to find something along the way, whether that is spiritual, material, or a combination of both. What we have in common, in any case, is that we are all searching for happiness. We are all seekers of happiness.
Regularisation
Regularisation through work means that people without a residence permit can obtain a residence permit by working under an employment contract. Their labour is recognised, which gives them access to basic rights and allows them to pay taxes.
In the Netherlands—unlike in almost all other European countries—there is no route whatsoever for regularisation through work, even when people have been living here for many years and contributing to society.
JOUW STEM, MIJN STEM
Voting seems self-evident. You receive a polling card, you take the red pencil, you make a choice. But for more than a million people, that is where it ends. They do not have Dutch nationality or a residence status, and are excluded from the right to vote. That means: no influence on laws, on reception, on healthcare, on work. While all those decisions do determine their daily lives.
