Trust -based banking

The Trust-based Banking project is a research and development initiative of Waag futurelab and Here to Support (HtS), in which we want to investigate for a year and experiment in a pilot how and under what conditions undocumented residents of the Netherlands have access can access banking services.

We continue to do this
to investigate the limitations and the European and national regulatory requirements necessary for the successful implementation and future pilot testing of trust-based banking, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders through various workshops throughout the project.
through collaboration with the target group and relevant stakeholders, developing a prototype e-wallet based on community vouching and Attribute-based credential technology (Yivi) as an identification method.
Carrying out a pilot with an undocumented focus group at the municipality of Amsterdam.

The project is financied by Interledger Foundation.

Based on the results of the pilot, we aim to create more support among banks to enable alternative forms of identification, based on community vouching. To create an alternative form of identification, we work together with Stil Utrecht, SDNVU & Vluchtelingen in de Knel, sponsored by Kansfonds
